Lead Te Uru Rākau's engagement with Grant applicants and recipients and help us achieve the planting of one billion trees by 2028!

About the Role│Kōrero mō te tūranga

As our Manager Forest Grants you will lead the implementation and delivery of the Forest Grants section of the 1BT Forestry, Grants & Partnerships Programmes Fund to support the delivery of the Governments forestry initiatives and enable the sustainable future all New Zealanders are striving to achieve.  With a focus on seamless service delivery you will lead the engagement with stakeholders, develop contract management arrangements and strive for continual improvement of governance processes and capabilities.

Leading a regional team responsible for the implementation and management of a fit for purpose Grants process you will establish effective management strategies to support high team performance and effectively deliver the 1BT funding on behalf of the Government.

Core responsibilities for the role:

  • Manage the delivery of the 1BT Grants Fund.
  • Engage with stakeholders and provide advice about the purpose and scope of the funds and requirements for accessing the resources.
  • Provide leadership and management to the Forest Grants team.
  • Develop contract management arrangements to ensure milestones are met and payments made.
  • Identify and implement processes and performance monitoring mechanisms.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships that deliver outcomes, achieve fund objectives and provides a seamless delivery of service for applicants.

About You│Mōu

To achieve the effective management and delivery of Forestry Grants you will work within the Forest Grants team and across Te Uru Rakau to establish the outcomes of various assessments. Bring your relationship management and excellent communication skills to pull people together and get the job done.

To be successful in this role, you will offer:

  • Proven people management experience with demonstrated ability to lead, motive and develop people and achieve results through others.
  • Demonstrated experience analysing investment cases and exposure to good investment/fund management practices.
  • Previous track record of successful management and business planning, with strategic capability and the ability to maintain clear focus on long term goals.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex programmes of work.
  • Understanding of basic Te Reo Maori
  • Proven financial management and reporting skills, including understanding of Government's financial management process.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Treaty Principles and the Crown's obligation to Māori

With the role based in Rotorua you will engage with colleagues and stakeholders across New Zealand and to do this there will be some travel required.

Salary range for this role is $130,000 to $160,000 depending on skills and experience
