Have you ever considered working in Intelligence? We are now recruiting for an Intelligence Support Officer in Wellington to join our work area. This is a position that provides an ideal entry point into Intelligence.

The intelligence work area is responsible for undertaking analysis and producing intelligence that ensures that New Zealand Customs is targeting the highest areas of risk and helps other parts of the business, senior management and external agencies to make better decisions. All our team are responsible for supporting the Intelligence group to deliver this objective.

In this role, you will have a wide variety of tasks, from supporting analytical processes and supporting the delivery of intelligence products, to contributing to risk management process by triaging information coming into the Intelligence work area. You will enhance information flows with the frontline and facilitate the sharing of information with our partners, both domestic and international.

Ideal Person Profile:

  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to learn and master new tasks quickly;
  • Good written and oral communication skills;
  • Good computer/technology skills and the ability to learn and use Customs and other computer applications with confidence;
  • Passionate and enthusiastic and demonstrates a team player attitude;
  • Ability to problem solve but escalates issues when necessary;
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance to at least a "Top Secret" level
