Fixed Term, Full-time

Remuneration range: $109,225.00 - $147,775.00

Integrated Safety Response (ISR) is a multi-agency initiative ensuring families experiencing family violence get the help they need from Government and community services. ISR involves core agencies closely working together to support victims, perpetrators and their families.  ISR operates in two sites, Christchurch and Hamilton.

Police is the operational lead and hosting agency for ISR, as part of the Joint Venture for Family Violence and Sexual Violence. Please note that the hosting agency/reporting line may change to another Government Department during the term of this role.

We are looking for an Operations Manager in Waikato who can:

  • Monitor and analyse ISR to ensure it is effective and provide options around strategies for improvement if necessary;
  • Support the Director to recommend improvements to the Integrated Safety Response in keeping with guidelines and with input from the local Governance Group and National Project Board;
  • Support the delivery of the model through the oversight of planning and controls of daily work activities and adhering to the Integrated Safety Response for family violence guidelines;
  • Support the frontline staff to provide an effective and timely response to people suffering as a result of family harm;
  • Identify and drive continual improvement based on the evidence provided from the Safety Assessment and Intensive Case Management Meetings and from evidence provided by the sector and the families and whanau who are part of ISR.

The ISR Operations Manager ensures connected, effective responses are planned and implemented for families affected by family violence. They ensure the Integrated Safety Response team are provided with a constructive and supportive environment which enables them to work as an effective multi-agency team.

In order to achieve this, the Operations Manager is expected to have strong relationships with NGOs and Government organisations involved in responding to family violence.

They are able to influence positive change both within the immediate ISR team and across the key ISR stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate experience in:

  • Track record of assigning a balanced workload and providing operational oversight for a busy team;
  • Can demonstrate effective facilitation of group problem solving;
  • Experience in implementing continuous improvement of practices and processes;
  • Experience in coordinating or managing cross-sectoral or multi-disciplinary teams is desirable;
  • Experience in the family violence sector or related sectors is desirable;
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. management, psychology, education, social work, health).

Additional Information:

  • 21 October 2019 – 30 June 2021
  • ISR operates seven days a week throughout the year, so flexibility is required as you may be required to work some weekends and statutory holidays
