12 Month Fixed Term Opportunity 

This is the perfect role for you to use your excellent relationship management and strong organisational skills combined with your health or science qualifications or relevant health sector experience.

As a Funding Coordinator, you will co-ordinate the decision-making process for applications for funding for pharmaceuticals under the Named Patient Pharmaceutical Assessment (NPPA) Policy. Recommendations for applications are subject to formal approval; however, our four Funding Coordinators conduct a thorough and robust process prior to this stage, including seeking, collating and critically appraising a wide range of information for each application. The role has a level of autonomy and applicants will need to be self-driven to manage time-pressured work but also need to work as part of a team. You will be part of the Pharmaceutical Funding team and supported to learn and succeed in our fast paced and dynamic workplace.

You'll have a high level of personal maturity and the ability to handle sensitive personal information appropriately. Familiarity with medical terminology would be useful, as the role requires the ability to deal with complex medical information.

Success in the role will depend on your excellent verbal and written communication skills (including the ability to write at a professional level for a management or Board level audience), the ability to assess and critically appraise information against criteria, and also to assess work and processes to identify business improvements. You will need to prioritise and multi-task, work within set processes and have high attention to detail.

Skills & qualifications

This role requires:

  • excellent relationship, project management and organisational skills,
  • the ability to communicate effectively on confidential and sensitive medical issues; and
  • someone who is able to work as part of a team to achieve outputs.

A relevant tertiary qualification and/or extensive and comparable relevant experience is an advantage.
