We have had an internal promotion and are looking for a dedicated, passionate and proactive Team Assistant to provide second-to-none administrative support to two busy teams. You will be supporting the Budget Management team, responsible for delivering the Government's annual Budget, and the System Design and Strategy team, responsible for designing and implementing changes to the public finance system.  

The Treasury is the New Zealand Government's lead economic and financial advisor. Our vision is to be a world-leading Treasury working towards higher living standards for New Zealanders.

This role provides the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks including

  • Document management (formatting, processing and distribution)
  • Preparing and drafting correspondence and/or documents (including presentations) as required
  • Diary, meeting and email management
  • Organising travel and meeting/event administration
  • Resource, HR and financial support


You will be responsible for providing exemplary support to leaders and their teams to allow them to fully focus on producing their outputs in order to achieve the Treasury's desired outcomes. The role would suit a talented and enthusiastic administrator who thrives in a busy environment and can work with a wide range of people and juggle multiple priorities to ensure the seamless provision of services across the organisation as needed.  You'll be customer-centric and be able to work at pace, with a focus on continuous improvement.

To be successful in the role you will be

  • An experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite with excellent IT skills
  • An effective communicator - both written and verbally
  • Approachable, energetic and collaborative
  • Flexible with a 'can-do' attitude
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and work without supervision
