Fire and Emergency New Zealand is a Crown Entity established on 1 July 2017 under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017. The role of our new organisation is to reduce unwanted fires, respond to structural and vegetation fires and other emergencies including motor vehicle crashes, medical emergencies, hazardous substance related incidents, natural disasters and support increased community resilience.

Volunteers make up over 80% of the personnel.

In this role you will be working to enable the organisation to understand, track and improve the volunteer experience across the volunteer lifecycle, to ensure that the organisation's decisions that involve and impact on volunteers are appropriately informed. You will contribute to maintaining and improving the organisation's volunteer data and processes, in order to develop initiatives and action plans to produce data analytics on trends in our volunteer workforce over time.

This will contribute to robust evince informed decisions which improve front line services across NZ communities.

Key accountabilities for this role include the following:

  • Maintaining, monitoring, analysing and improving volunteer data and the volunteer data processes
  • Improving volunteer data utility
  • Volunteer resilience team membership
  • Stakeholder management and communication

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Strong experience working with business stakeholders across an organisation to understand their needs and produce data analysis and insights that support organisational decision making
  • Experienced in the production and use of data analytics within a large organisational context
  • Experience sourcing, tidying and joining together data from various source for the purposes of completing data analysis
  • Experience in business analysis/process improvement in a comparably complex and sizable business and environment

The remuneration for this role is $82,489 to $91,655.
