Job Description

Manager, Strategy and Assurance - Full Time, Permanent position. 

Are you:

  • An experienced technologist with a keen eye for detail as well as having a broad strategic view,
  • Experienced in developing and working with architecture and risk frameworks,
  • Already at the top of your game but looking for further challenges in a varied, innovative and fast moving environment?

About you

You will lead, inspire, create and set the priorities for the team. With the CIO, you will help set the direction for BT&IS. You will have experience with:

  • Developing and maintaining strategic plans, including; Digital, Data and Technology Plans
  • Leadership and staff management and development.
  • Defining, creating and managing Enterprise Architecture frameworks and standards.
  • Solution Architecture practices and understanding how Enterprise and Solution Architecture practices are aligned.
  • The development of Risk and Assurance frameworks and their practical application and management.
  • Software design methodologies, patterns and practices. This knowledge is used to inform architecture frameworks and patterns that can be used internally, by third party vendors or by other Ministries.
  • Understanding of Operational Service Delivery models i.e. DevOps, DataOps etc.

About the role

Reporting to the Director (CIO), the Manager, Strategy and Assurance is a key role within Business Technology and Information Services (BT&IS). It is responsible for providing leadership and setting the standards for technology adoption throughout MPI. The role supports the Director in a number of critical areas, including; strategy development and management, technology assurance - through robust architectural standards and frameworks and ensuring technology is delivered in an effective and consistent manner.

The position involves managing a number of Enterprise and Solution Architects as well as an Assurance and Customer focused function. It is a dynamic team with wide impact and reach within MPI.
