The Professional Practice group supports Oranga Tamariki in achieving its outcomes by providing practice analysis, advice and expertise and designing frameworks and tools to support practitioners in their everyday work with tamariki.

About the Role:

 

Reporting to the Manager Quality, you will take the lead in ensuring quality systems and functions are in place to provide advice, leadership and expertise, contributing to a shared vision for quality practice here at Oranga Tamariki.

Of key importance will be your high aptitude to provide tailored advice on continuous improvement, ensuring an exceptional and consistent delivery of service for tamariki and their whānau.

This is a pivotal role where you will lead and promote the delivery of service excellence and help build capability by coaching and mentoring members of the team and the wider group. You will work closely with our senior leadership team to provide credible advice enabling them to make informed decisions as we strive to towards positive outcomes for tamariki and young people.

Key requirements include:

 

  • Significant experience in monitoring the quality of practices & identification of risks & issues.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership experience to facilitate discussions and influence decision making.
  • An aptitude for driving continuous improvement through all processes.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach and the ability to negotiate persuasively.
  • Ability to use strong analytical, writing and reporting skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills enabling you to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of mana tamaiti, whakapapa and whanaungatanga and to delivering to our Māori cultural framework
  • A willingness to travel within New Zealand to fulfil the job requirements
