  • Permanent position, Wellington Central

WorkSafe New Zealand is looking for an experienced Personal Assistant to join our busy and high performing Legal Group. You will provide executive support to our Chief Legal Advisor (CLA), enabling and ensuring their effectiveness.  This means you can expect busy, diverse and interesting days in the office. You'll be comfortable with change and willing to be flexible in your approach to work.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with planning and calendar management and managing, telephone calls, emails and other communications
  • Organising and providing administrative support for internal and external meetings
  • Co-ordinating and internal and external reports on Group activities
  • Providing administration support such as arranging travel, coordinating event management and catering, support for finance and budget management, and meeting secretariat support

 To be successful in this role you will bring with you:

  • A proven track record of experience and achievement in providing administrative support to a senior manager and leadership team
  • Demonstrated agility in responding to changes in priorities
  • Your technology savvy and ability to establish and maintain efficient processes
  • The confidence to be proactive and use initiative to ensure the CLA's priorities are met
  • Judgement and discretion to deal with high level, urgent and confidential matters appropriately
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and to prioritise work to achieve WorkSafe's initiatives

The Legal Group is responsible for providing effective legal services and advice to WorkSafe, including the Chief Executive and the Board.  The Group plays a central role in our regulatory compliance monitoring work, investigating and enforcing workplace health and safety law, gas and electricity safety law, and manages our prosecutions.
