About the role
Kōrero mō te tūranga

The Mycoplasma bovis Programme has been operating since July 2018, and we're working toward a world first eradication of M. bovis. Our environment is dynamic, and continually changing. The Evaluation and Tasking team leads the investigation of farms under surveillance and is part of the Disease Control management group.  We assess farms based on risk, interpret Lab results, and produce evidence which underpins the Ministry for Primary Industries' commitment to the eradication of M. bovis.  As part of the Disease Control group. 

You will be responsible for leading the team and supporting them to use evidence based information to determine the disease state of farms, and the development of advice on whether further evaluation and tasking is required.  The ability to work collaboratively across the disease control management group will ensure your success in this role.

To succeed in this role you'll

  • Be an experienced team leader with a proven background in promoting a positive work environment
  • Success in developing people and assisting teams to work to their full potential
  • Have a demonstrated understanding of resource allocation, managing workloads and monitoring team outputs
  • Have an eye for improvement and the ability to drive improvement in processes and systems
  • Be a clear communicator who can build relationships to influence and persuade across a wide range of stakeholders 

An understanding of the farming sector would be desirable but is not essential.

The salary for this role is approximately $95 to $100K depending on skills and experience.
