Job Description

What you will do

In this role, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of business services to the Defence Logistics Command (Maritime) [DLC(M)] and Heads of Departments. The Supply Chain Group Administrator is your direct report, and together you will ensure business support services are maintained.

The role involves reporting on resource availability, (including coordinating the Service Commitment process), maintaining the DLC(M) Technical Registry and providing assistance with the coordination and induction of all personnel, including Placed Military Personnel located within our partner, Babcock (NZ) Ltd.

The key outcome for this position is to ensure the delivery of high-quality customer focused business support to all staff, managers and commanders. You must have the ability to perform across functions of the business, whilst maintaining a team focus on the delivery of timely and efficient business support to all internal and external customers in a busy environment.

What we need

We are seeking an exceptional coordinator who thrives in a busy and fast paced environment. You have a good amount of business centre administration experience which you will call on to ensure your success in this role.

You have a high level of computer literacy especially within the Microsoft Office Suite and you can learn new specialist programmes easily such as SAP and SRM.

As a career administrator, you realise the importance of establishing and building key working relationships across the organisation, this role is no different. Your ability to communicate and liaise with a wide and diverse range of people will help you contribute to and support the business.

The Logistics Support Group (LSG) provides Financial, Administrative, Business Performance, Information Systems Support Services, Contractor Relationship and Contract Management support to the Defence Logistics Command (Maritime).

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows: 

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
