The People and Capability team in the Intelligence Community Shared Services (ICSS) are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Data Analyst, who will work across the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) and the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS).

If you are passionate about numbers and making sure people have the right metrics to make the right decisions then read on. Our HR Data Analyst helps us make sense of the numbers and finds  engaging ways to present information in our dashboards and reports to inform actionable insights.  So we want someone who is smart, creative and who can also bring new knowledge to the table.

In order to be successful, you will need:

  • Previous experience in data analysis and producing insights from data.
  • To be keen on improving data collection and analysis practices - including the documenting of processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills
  • To enjoy processing and analysing large data sets.
  • To produce regular reports and dashboards, providing insights in to our HR metrics.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills, primarily in Excel.
  • An interest in quantitative research
  • To be able to present data in an informative, engaging and easy to understand format.

Previous experience in statistical analysis, PowerBI or in a programming language such as Python would also be desirable.

Salary from $58,549 - $87,823 per annum.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence or hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years. 

You must be able to obtain and maintain a high level security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
