Fixed Term to December 2020 

About the role 
Kōrero  te tūranga 

The Mycoplasma bovis Programme has been operating since July 2018, and we're working toward a world first eradication of M. bovis. Our environment is dynamic, and continually changing. We're passionate about what we do and enjoy working with like-minded colleagues who are making a difference. To thrive you will enjoy working at pace, and have a high attention to detail.  

You will be responsible for leading and supporting our Tracing team (we identify, clarify and confirm risk to the Programme and track the movements of cattle using a variety of information sources, including the National Animal Identification & Tracing (NAIT) scheme).  You'll make sure that processes and procedures work and sensible improvements are implemented, ensuring all our teams are on the same page..  

Skills and Experience

To succeed in this role you will 

  • Be able to think on your feet and rise to changing goalposts
  • Be a trusted team leader 
  • Be a clear communicator, you 'll be able to explain complex data in clear and concise terms  
  • Have an understanding of the farming sector particularly dairy farming in NZ
  • Have a tertiary qualification in a relevant field

Remuneration for this role will be paid between $95 to $100K +  depending on skills and experience.  See the benefits of working at MPI
