About the Role│Kōrero mō te tūranga

As the Senior Adviser Workforce Planning you will have a unique opportunity to work across the forestry industry and Government Agencies to take the lead on various initiatives that support growing the capability and capacity of people in the forestry sector. These initiatives could include recruitment roadshows, planning workshops, and recruitment campaigns – the planning and design of initiatives is yet to be developed representing an opportunity for you to be involved at this foundational time. You will build relationships within the forestry sector and use connections in the education sector to enable the delivery of initiatives.

Our Skills, Training and Workplace Safety team has been created to support growing a strong, stable and reliable labour market which enables safe and rewarding lifetime careers in forestry, one of our forestry goals. The team will work alongside Industry stakeholders and other government agencies to understand issues and identify barriers that impact on the sector's ability to build capability, capacity and safety. This partnering will identify opportunities to share insights and solve problems to implement change and improve performance across the forestry sector.

Core responsibilities for the role:

  • Establish and implement processes for the delivery of forestry workforce related activities.
  • Provide advice on operational processes to ensure they are efficient and meet legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide forestry workforce advice and provide support and coordination of events and forestry forums.
  • Evaluate the success of initiatives to seek improvements to future delivery
  • Provide coaching and mentoring support and advice to Advisers.

About You│Mōu

Building positive relationships across industry to deliver initiatives, improve performance and bring about sectoral change requires advanced interpersonal skills, an understanding of learning and the drive for results.

To be successful in this role, you will offer:

  • Previous experience leading projects and providing coaching, mentoring and advice
  • Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders

This is an opportunity to work alongside the forestry sector of New Zealand and there will be travel required to achieve this. Preference is for this position to be based out of Rotorua, however we will accept applications from candidates based in Wellington.

Salary range for this role is $91,162 to midpoint $107,249 depending on skills and experience.
