Job Description

People and Culture Capability Trainer

City Campus, Christchurch

Proportional (0.5 FTE) Fixed Term

 

  • Deliver capability development programmes with a focus on digital capability
  • Identify & develop training interventions and solutions
  • Support Ara in the capability development of its colleagues

 

The People and Culture team comprises People & Culture (HR) services (e.g. administration, HRIS), business partners and specialist functions including Employment Relations, Health and Safety, Health and Wellbeing, Employee Experience and Capability Development.  The mission of the Division is to partner with leaders to continually lift our employees' experience at work and build on our engaging culture so that individuals and the organisation can deliver outcomes beyond their expectations.

The Role

Essential to the role is ensuring staff are highly engaged, professionally developed and confident in their roles. You will successfully build relationships across the institution, connecting the right people and tools at the right time to ensure that institutional and individual needs are prioritised and appropriately met.  Key responsibilities in the role include; planning, implementation and delivery of all people capability activity; ensuring alignment of Ara's Capability Development Frameworks; and assisting in the development of capability resources and tools at Ara.  

Duties

  • Partner with Capability Advisors and Ara Divisions to support the identification of capability needs
  • Deliver training resources using multiple media
  • Deliver high quality training and capability activity across, Organisational, Academic and Leadership domains
  • Work with People & Culture colleagues in order to assist the organisation achieve key goals and strategies.

Skills/Experience

  • Significant knowledge, skills and workplace experience in digital training
  • Relevant tertiary qualification to at least Level 5 (Diploma)
  • Workplace experience of capability development in the education sector or similar
  • Extensive experience and expertise using technology tools to produce training documentation and resource materials
  • Experience in supporting others to determine training needs and outcomes
