Join a team of motivated professionals responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of core digital services to the Health Sector.

We lead, support and advise health and disability sector transformation through the use of data, digital services and technology.

The Senior Devops Engineer is an existing role that is responsible for working to understand the customer's requirements, then collaborating closely with them and other team members to design and develop high value digital solutions. These solutions must be aligned with wider Ministry and government strategies, and health sector architectural standards. DevOps Engineers are involved in the full life cycle of an application.

We operate in a dynamic environment, creating innovative solutions, with a focus on CICD and the adoption of cloud technologies. This role will require you to be creative, with strong problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and a keen eye for detail.

It would be a distinct advantage to have current experience of both working in and managing cloud-based environments, with an understanding of automation, tooling and processes. You'll also need to be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, and ready to work collaboratively with a range of people. 

Our move toward cloud is accelerating and you'll be playing a big part in helping grow our capability in that regard, so experience mentoring and developing technical people would be a distinct advantage.

To be successful, you will be also be able to demonstrate your technical capability in the following areas:

  • Software development experience with Java and the Eclipse IDE.
  • Experience with Cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, etc.
  • Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, Nexus and Gitlab, particularly in a Java integration environment.
  • Web development experience, including JavaScript, CSS and REST
