Are you an expert recruiter who enjoys working closely with Senior Managers to deliver high quality recruitment outcomes? Can you source and engage with those ‘hard to find' candidates? Do you have knowledge/interest in Tikanga and Te Reo? If so, come and join our high-performing team.

Our Senior Recruitment Advisers are the key contact point for recruitment across National Office for Deputy Chief Executives and Senior Hiring Managers. As trusted Advisers for all things recruitment, they ensure that hiring managers receive consultative, professional, end-to-end recruitment services.

This particular role will include the recruitment of  new roles  being established as part of the Department's Hokai Rangi Strategy. Hokai Rangi is the Department's organisational strategy for the next 5 years. It recognises and builds on the good work we are already doing, however, it also looks to find new and alternative ways to achieve better outcomes for the people in our care and their whanau which will result in reduced reoffending.

We have created the new role of DCE Maori and in this role you will work closely with him and his team to bring the right people into the Department to achieve our strategic objectives. Ideally the successful person will have an interest in Tikanga, be learning or developing their Te Reo skills and be able to align yourself with the delivery of the Hokai Rangi strategy from a recruitment perspective.

Specifically you will:

  • Advise managers on best-practice recruitment processes
  • Directly deliver recruitment outcomes for senior and strategic National Office (and some regional) roles
  • Co-ordinate resources to make sure that all roles are filled with the best candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds
  • Implement innovative sourcing strategies and profile Corrections careers externally, with a particular focus on attracting candidates with and understanding of Te Ao Maori
  • Share your expertise with the broader recruitment team and contribute to the development of a future focused recruitment function

We're looking for a highly experienced recruiter who:

  • Can respond to the wide range of role types recruited in National Office and across the region
  • Can design and deliver creative sourcing solutions to attract a diverse candidate pool and to find talent for hard to fill roles
  • Enjoys engaging with external groups and communities
  • Works collaboratively, providing support to regions as required and mentoring less experienced team members
  • Is flexible and not precious about doing whatever needs to be done to ensure a quality outcome
  • Experience with Springboard would be an advantage

The Corrections Recruitment Team is well-regarded and respected internally as delivering great service and great results and we are proud of the strong team environment we have here. So if you're a career recruiter, committed to using your exceptional skills to help find great people so that we can achieve our strategic objective to reduce reoffending and make our communities safer, please apply.

For a confidential discussion, please contact Sally Ryan, Manager Frontline Recruitment phone 04 4603394 or Bridget Cooksley, Manager Specialist Recruitment on 04 4603283

As this is a 9 month fixed term role, we will consider inter-agency secondments for recruiters looking to broaden their experience.

Correction's embraces diversity and is committed to an inclusive workplace.  We recognise and celebrate the uniqueness of individuals and celebrate the collective talent of all employees.
