About the team

Our progressive and dynamic Mental Health Service strives to achieve excellence in every facet of its service delivery and we have a full time (40 hours per week) permanent opportunity for an experienced Service Administrator. The administration team are a dedicated group, working well together and supporting each other in a professional manner - with attributes such as humour, common sense and a genuine commitment to teamwork.

About the role - what's in it for me?

Based in the Mental Health unit at Southland Hospital you will be a pivotal member of the team, primarily supporting the Service Manager. You'll deliver effective, confidential and professional support, providing robust secretarial and administrative services.

This is a busy, largely autonomous role, with no two days alike, your routine could involve any of the following activities and other general administrative tasks:

  • Organising meeting agendas
  • Taking minutes
  • Email management
  • Overseeing the Service Managers schedule, including complex diary management
  • Dealing with complaints and compiling statistics
  • Coordination of information for reports, collating and ensuring their timely delivery

About you

It is essential that you have a background in administration at a senior level, exhibiting skills to anticipate, prioritise and deliver to time frames. You will have the ability to take direction when required and the confidence to build successful working relationships across a large organisation, your eye for detail and use of initiative will see you accomplishing complex tasks with minimal supervision. Naturally you will possess a highly professional demeanour, be an exceptional communicator, who can multi-task and think on your feet. It goes without saying, you will have excellent computer skills and will be proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook, with PowerPoint being advantageous.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a pro-active attitude to your work, have great attention to detail, be well organised and have excellent time management skills.

The salary for this position is from $43,580 to $49694 per annum and will be based on relevant experience and qualifications.
