Job Description

What you will do
 
As a Recruitment Coordinator you will join a proactive, supportive recruitment team which is part of a wider HR team spread throughout the country.

This is a key role that supports Senior Recruitment Advisors to successfully deliver recruitment aspects of a branch wide change and transformation project for our Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Branch.
Your focus will be to manage applicants through the full recruitment process.

This will involve:

  • Coordination and project administration activities for CIS internal and external recruitment processes;
  • Creation and maintenance of recruitment project artefacts and reports using our document management system, MS Excel and our e-Recruitment system;
  • Liaising with our customers and the wider Recruitment and HR teams;
  • Posting adverts on multiple platforms;
  • Managing applications and responding to queries;
  • Scheduling Interviews;
  • Drafting offer documents;
  • Maintaining order of multiple systems and processes.

The recruitment team is spread between our brand new NZDF headquarters located next to Parliament, and our newly fitted out, modern offices in Petone. Although you will mainly be based in Wellington, you will be required to work from Petone at least one day a week.
 
What we need 

This is a fast paced environment so you'll enjoy being busy in what can be a challenging role at times. You must be able to prioritise as things can often change at the drop of a hat.

As a talented coordinator with a solid background in administration, you will also have: 

  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Confident interpersonal skills;
  • An enjoyment for variety and autonomy;
  • The ability pick up new skills, systems and processes quickly.

Please note: This role is fixed-term until August 2020.

Although dedicated to the CIS change and transformation (CISCTP) business unit, you will be a member of a highly engaged, collaborative Recruitment Team who provide end to end best practice recruitment for NZDF throughout the country. We work alongside our colleagues within the wider Defence Human Resources business unit.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
