The Research and Entitlement Advisors are also responsible for engraving and issuing medals.

Teamwork, planning and providing effective customer service to a large internal and external customer base are central focusses of this position.

You'll have strengths in researching information, as well as understanding and interpreting regulations, legislations and rules. You'll be able to make accurate, informed, unbiased and consistent recommendations based on a wide range of information, and have the ability to justify recommendations and create accurate and detailed records of these.

You'll be skilled in relationship management, with the proven ability to interact with a wide range of people, and your ability to deal with customers and information in a sensitive and discreet manner will be crucial to your success in this role.

Who we are

NZDF Personnel Archives and Medals (PAM) contributes to the development of New Zealand's military heritage by providing advice on and interpretation of New Zealand military information we hold.

We safeguard the personnel files of ex-serving military, and provide information from these files to them, their families and other interested parties in accordance with New Zealand Government legislation. The files held at Personnel Archives and Medals at Trentham Military Camp are an invaluable resource for documenting the social and military history of New Zealand.  They provide a unique record of the military service of the men and women who served our country at home and overseas.

NZDF PAM researches and establishes entitlement to medals of serving and ex-serving military personnel; and issues campaign and service medals awarded on behalf of New Zealand to entitled recipients.  We protect the integrity of medallic entitlement in accordance with the intent of Royal Warrants and Regulations approved by the Governor General and Parliament as applicable.

Our business activities support our veterans and their families in line with NZDF's business outcome ‘Veterans' Service is Honoured'.

Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the New Zealand Defence Force is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.  As a modern, professional military, it is our goal to maintain well trained, equipped and disciplined armed forces that can react to crisis at short notice.
