  • Wellington location – Fixed term Contract until mid 2021
  • Salary range of $110,091 to $155,423
  • High profile and fast paced project work

Hokai Rangi is the Department's organisational strategy for the next 5 years. It recognises and builds on the good work we are already doing, however, it also looks to find new and alternative ways to achieve better outcomes for the people in our care and their whanau which will result in reduced reoffending.

Due to an expanding programme of work, we are looking for a highly experienced and enthusiastic Project Management Professional to be part of the Department's Design and Implementation team on a fixed term contract.

The projects are often high profile and fast paced, working alongside our Justice and Social sector colleagues. You may have heard about our work on alcohol and other drug testing in the community or initiatives that improve the interactive online experience for prisoners.

We're looking for someone who loves what they do, thrives on diverse and challenging projects and is passionate about making a difference for New Zealand.

Skills and experienced required:

  • Relevant qualifications or experience to an equivalent level
  • Have experience in utilising a range of frameworks and approaches
  • Be experienced running Business and/or IT projects and know how to “bridge the gap”
  • Be a results focussed individual
  • Have a proven track record of ‘getting the most' from talented teams
  • Understand how to balance risk and reward while driving outcomes
  • Enjoy engaging with diverse stakeholder groups including senior management personnel, operational staff, design consultants and contractors
  • Be a team player who believes in working collaboratively to reach successful outcomes
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, resilience and the ability to influence team members and other stakeholders.
