The Department of Corrections seeks a highly experienced and strategic senior internal audit professional to lead our internal audit function.

As Manager Internal Audit you will use your exceptional and proven people skills to manage the day-to-day business of the Internal Audit team. You'll lead the strategic direction for internal audit in line with the Department's goals.


You will mentor, inspire and train a team of internal auditors who have varying levels of experience. You'll also work in concert with managers from Risk, Integrity and Security to ensure a cohesive and enabling service is provided to the business.


You will possess

  • Experience in successfully developing and implementing sound but agile Internal Audit practices across an organisation that align with best practice.
  • At least three years' experience in a senior auditor or manager position within Internal Audit. Preferably in a large or complex organisation.
  • Experience in developing and completing Internal Audit Strategic Plans and Programmes of Work for a large and complex organisation
  • Exceptional and proven people management and influencing skills
  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant area is essential. A relevant qualification in finance or assurance is essential eg. CIA, CA, CISA.

As part of your application, please provide a covering letter outlining your suitability for this role. The salary range for this role is $162,358 - $229,211. Appointment will be based on skills and experience relevant to the role.
