    Our Technology team is transitioning to a modern, responsive, client-centred technology team to be well-placed to respond to the ever-increasing pace of change and the needs of our customers. We are responsible for the design, delivery and operation of forward-looking technology solutions that enable the Transport Agency to deliver its business outcomes. 

    The transition to product led, virtual teams co-designing with internal clients transforms the way Technology works with the business. Working with an Agile and DevOps approach ensures there is a seamless transition from product design to implementation to ongoing support and maintenance. We are looking for people who want to help drive and influence this change.

    The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi

    As our Manager Project Managers, your focus will be on managing and mentoring your team of up to 16 Project Managers. You will ensure your team are delivering projects on time, within budget and to the quality required. You will work with the EPMO to ensure the new way of working is underpinned by robust collateral and support material and your team is following and understands that process and what is required of them.

    Alongside your product peers, including product managers, your team will provide high quality, proactive and timely service and advice to the business to ensure we meet the required Transport Agency outcomes.

    We are looking for a proven people leader who has the credibility to influence across a range of stakeholders.

    To be successful in this role, you will bring:

    • Proven experience in people leadership of Project Managers
    • An understanding of project methodology including Agile
    • The ability to influence and build credibility across a range of stakeholders in a complex business and technology environment
    • Demonstrated experience in resource management across a team, including prioritisation of resource allocations to best deliver to customers
    • Demonstrated ability to translate business and customer needs into technology solutions
    • Significant experience in building technical understanding of business problems
    • Knowledge and experience in proactive risk management
    • Extensive experience in design thinking and co-design methodologies
