Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team

Our Skills and Regulatory Stewardship team sits within the Policy and Trade branch of MPI to:

  • lead the development and delivery a work programme to build the capability and capacity of the primary sector workforce;
  • assist MPI to ensure its regulatory processes are of sound quality and meet government requirements and expectations; and
  • support the development of policy advisors within MPI and improve the quality of policy advice.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

We are currently looking for a senior policy analyst to join our team, working primarily on primary industry skills and workforce policy. You may have experience in education or employment policy and/or have worked in the primary sector skills area. You will work alongside other team members to assist an industry skills group to progress plans of action to ensure the primary sector has the workforce it needs for the future.  This will be interesting and varied work and you will engage with a wide variety of stakeholders.

You will be an experienced policy practitioner who delivers high quality advice. You will have the ability to write clearly and an interest in growing your ability to analyse data and present it in engaging visual formats. You will be collaborative in style and have the ability to approach people, build relationships and influence policy design.
