Job Description

DOC's Information Systems and Services (ISS) is looking for a Business Analyst. We want you to be part of an established project team, working with the business, to improve how DOC plans and delivers its work.

Mahi Oranga (Wellbeing at Work) is an Operations project that aims to improve wellbeing through achievable work plans, making priority work visible in a single scheduling tool and improving the use of team process, task assignments and leader led work scheduling. You will work with us on building excellent business processes and procedures embedded within our business planning tools (SAP) to help field workers in doing their work.

You will work with the business and be expected to engage with corporate managers, administrators and internal service providers. Of course, we expect you to be a great BA, scaling from the tactical to the detailed view. You'll use process design to drive efficiencies and effectiveness, knowing that you play your part in delivering better conservation outcomes for all New Zealanders.

Mahi Oranga will be delivered in phases.  This role will be expected to immerse themselves deeply within each phase and be responsible for the refinement and approval of business processes and the definition of standard operating procedures. This will be done as part of a project delivery team comprising business SMEs, SAP configuration specialists, testers and change management analysts.

This includes:

  • Being part of a motivated, well performing project team.
  • Designing of efficient and effective business processes, accompanied by well described procedures and requirements.
  • Translating these processes and requirements into training and communications artefacts to help deliver the products
  • Assisting the Project Manager in a phased delivery of solutions into the business.

You as the ideal candidate will excel at:

  • Building relationships and effectively engaging with business and technical teams
  • Business process design, requirements elicitation and management, and product delivery.
  • Promoting team cohesion and collaboration

In addition

  • Have strong ICT skills and experience.
  • Prior working with SAP and/or asset management systems would be an advantage.
  • Well versed in BABOK good practice and processes
  • Understanding of business change management, having ideally worked on projects with a large business change component

Please apply online via the DOC Careers Centre.  Applications must include a cover letter, CV and evidence of the required capabilities as per the project description.

For more information please contact Kevin Higgins at khiggins@doc.govt.nz, quoting vacancy 100/1405T.

Applications close 5pm on Monday, 25 November 2019
