Are you looking to do your part in making New Zealand the greatest living space on Earth?

The Maniapoto District is on the lookout for someone keen to work with the Community team to monitor our concession compliance. This role also involves assisting the community team in various tasks such as running community events. You will be based in the beautiful Pureora Village on a short-term contract.


You will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring our concession compliance
  • Drafting pre and post visit letters to both compliant and non-compliant individuals/parties
  • Creating conservation education material (newsletters, brochures etc.)
  • Gathering information for Official Information Act requests. Where our office must compile records to present this information to a member of the public, you may be involved in finding the relevant documentation.
  • Assisting with the Pureora Hunting Competition, including contacting sponsors and collecting prizes.


The ideal applicant will:

  • Have knowledge of conservation principles in New Zealand
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a variety of people
  • Able to understand legal contracts and write reports in a clear, concise and professional manner
  • Be able to maintain positive working relationships across a broad range of people and groups
  • Comfortable with driving to sites and working independently, checking in with Supervisors via radio contact
  • Fit into the culture of the Maniapoto team


You will be required to stay away overnight, work outside normal hours and/or during weekends. It is essential to have a very strong commitment to health and safety (HSE) and exhibit exemplary HSE practice.


Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
