About the team and the role

The Business Services team is made up of a mix of Business Advisors and supporting team members, reporting to the Business Services Manager.

As a Business Advisor you will be responsible for providing specialist advice on a range of issues including work programme management, regular reporting and financial management.  You will also be responsible for providing training and correspondence co-ordination, and recruitment support.

Duties

  • Act as the co-ordination point across the Group for meeting deadlines with the Chief Executive's Office and Ministers' Offices
  • Provide co-ordination and support to the Group governance teams and contribute to the development and implementation of key initiatives across the Group
  • Support the Manager in identifying, analysing and providing advice on issues of importance to the allocated Strategic Leadership Teams
  • Coordinate all ministerial communications and Official Information Act requests relevant to the team.
  • Coordinating the Group processes, to ensure that sufficient people resources are available to deliver the work programme in a timely way
  • Lead the training co-ordination for the Group

Skills and experience

We're looking for someone with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment while also being able to meet the needs of a diverse group of internal and external customers, who can adapt easily to different business requirements and has the ability to learn quickly.

Key experience required for this role includes:

  • Strong analytical written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound relationship management skills
  • Strong technical ability in intermediate Microsoft Excel and Visio skills
  • Project management skills
  • Research and develop workable solutions to complex problems through analysis
  • Demonstrable strong organisational and prioritisation skills

This is a fixed term position until June 2020.

Salary range:  $70,445 - $99,451
