The National Collections and Reporting team is part of the wider Data and Digital Directorate which is tasked with the delivery and operation of information solutions that support the Ministry and wider health and disability sector.

 

As a Data Quality Analyst, you will be working with other analysts to ensure the PRIMHD mental health and addiction data is fit for purpose.  Specifically, you will be working with Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) and District Health Boards (DHBs) to ensure their data accurately reflects the services that have been provided.   The role involves supporting these organisations through compliance testing and ensuring their documentation is current. You will also be involved in analysis of data and developing an understanding service provision at national and regional levels (which will help users of PRIMHD data to understand it).   This is an intermediate level role which would suit candidates who already have data quality experience.

 

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • High degree of analytical skills including computer literacy. Experience using data extraction and analytical tools (Qlik or R or SQL or TOAD etc) to analyse problems.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership.
  • A sound understanding of data quality and data quality improvement principles
  • A client service focus with a keen sense of purpose and direction
  • Interest in data warehouse systems
  • Huge attention to detail and great organisational skills for solving problems and keeping on top of different work streams
  • Ability to work well within a team environment but also comfortable in making autonomous decisions as required.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
  • The ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving the highest levels of accuracy and confidentiality
