People may be surprised where MPI's work takes our people – we operate across the country in a range of environments from farms, orchards, forests and oceans to airports, ports, transitional facilities and corporate offices.  Whether working over water, protecting our borders or traversing our country's regions, the days are never dull.

MPI's internal Safety and Wellbeing team contribute to the promotion of our people's health, safety and wellbeing as they work in those environments.  We do this by implementing and maintaining organisational health and safety frameworks, and providing advice and support across MPI.


Kōrero mō te tūranga -About the role:

We are looking for two experienced Senior Advisers to join our team as we continue promoting the health, safety and wellbeing of our people.  One role is based in Auckland and one role is based in Wellington.

MPI's Senior Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisers are subject matter experts providing advice, guidance and support across MPI's business areas.  They work to create strong, collaborative working relationships with stakeholders, with a focus on ensuring health, safety and wellbeing is embedded into everyday business practices across the organisation.  The Senior Advisers are also allocated key projects to manage, which supports the implementation of MPI's Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy. 


Mōu - About You:

You will have:

  • Relevant health and safety qualifications and/or proven health, safety and wellbeing experience working for a multi-site organisation (and preferably experience working in a high risk environment or industry).
  • Experience in specific areas of health, safety and wellbeing (for example, critical risk management, data analysis, ICAM investigations, contractor management, management of hazardous substances etc.).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including the ability to write concise reports for Governance as required).
  • The ability to work collaboratively to lead engagement with stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience in training and coaching to build capability across an organisation.

In addition, you will have a sense a sense of humour and while taking the role seriously not forget the realities of engagement.
