Job Description

Are you a motivated and enthusiastic individual who gets their thrills from supporting and enabling others to succeed? Are you Interested in supporting a team that helps DOC grow and change for the better? Are you experienced at providing personal assistance and administrative support? Are you proactive, energetic and able to juggle multiple priorities?

 

The Organisational Development (OD) Unit is DOC's inhouse function for learning and development, leadership development, organisational change, flexible working, diversity & inclusion, wellbeing and other OD initiatives. We are a unit that has been changing so that we provide better support to the Department at a time of great growth and change. We have some vitally important pieces of work on the go, a very busy team calendar and we are looking for an experienced Personal Assistant/Team Administrator to join OD.

 

You will support a very busy Director and their leadership team with a variety of administrative duties, so it is essential you have a can-do attitude, plenty of initiative and a good sense of fun.

  • High level organisation skills, the ability to deliver on time and solve problems as they arise
  • An interest and understanding of the work of the Department and how it contributes to New Zealand's future sustainability
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise work
  • A great approach to maintaining resilience
  • Proven ability to work under pressure
  • You will be the Director's ‘eyes and ears' so effective communication/interpersonal skills and initiative are key to this role
  • Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with confidential/sensitive matters
  • Attention to detail/proofreading skills
  • Experience in diary and email management, travel and event coordination
  • Recruitment support for managers
  • A thorough knowledge of Microsoft computer applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)

 

Eligibility to work in New Zealand in a permanent capacity is mandatory.
