Job Description

Finance Business Partner

Our vision:

At Oranga Tamariki our vision is that New Zealand values the wellbeing of tamariki above all else.  Our purpose is to ensure all tamariki are in loving whānau and communities where oranga tamariki can be realised.
Oranga Tamariki focuses on children and young people whose wellbeing is at most serious risk – those at risk of harm and those who have offended.
We have been gifted a unique opportunity to shape a different approach to supporting tamariki and their whānau. We must work together, across state agencies and with our partners – NGOs, iwi, Māori organisations, community groups – to reimagine how we best support children to be safe and supported in their whānau and their homes.

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner in Funding and Performance. The role will provide trusted, insightful and comprehensive financial advice and support to Deputy Chief Executives and their leadership teams. The role will be responsible for ensuring the provision of timely and accurate information and business support to assist financial and operational decision-making and management. The Finance Business Partner will also support the delivery of accurate and effective financial budgeting and forecasting.

What you will bring:

•    A relevant tertiary qualification and qualified Chartered Accountant status with CAANZ or a similar professional qualification.
•    Extensive experience in providing financial insight, advice and challenge in a large complex organisation.
•    Proven quantitative and qualitative analytical and evaluative skills, incorporating problem solving, decision-making and creative thinking at a senior level.
•    Good communication skills, both written and oral, to suit experts and non-financial audiences.
•    Excellent working knowledge of relevant standards, principles, policies, systems and processes, procedures, guidelines, practice and regulations.
•    Extensive knowledge and understanding of management accounting and financial management principles and practices.
