Supervisor - Transcription Services

Bay of Plenty

Permanent, Full-time

Salary Range $64,813 - $87,693

File Management and Transcription (FM&T) Service is an integral part of the overall Service group. The Transcription Service delivers support to front line staff and victims, by providing typing and transcription services to the district, and assisting with the transition to a nationally consistent model. The service has been centrally managed from 1 October 2019, and we require experienced staff to support us in the new structure.

 

The Service group is looking for an engaged and highly motivated leader to provide oversight to the Transcription Services team. This is a Permanent role as Supervisor Transcription Services, based in the Bay of Plenty.

 

It is our preference that the applicant will be available to start in this role as soon as possible. The FM&T transition activities are underway, however we still require ongoing support for these and the Transcription Services day to day activities.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the Police High Performance Framework within the team
  • Leading a culture based on the core values of the New Zealand Police
  • Partnering with and maintaining relationships with a range of internal teams
  • Implementing nationally consistent policy and practices
  • Managing a district based transcription team to deliver a consistent Transcription service to front line staff and victims

 

Skills and Experience - you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an ability to manage and lead staff in building a high performing culture
  • Demonstrate experience in the delivery, implementation and monitoring of work practices and procedures in relation to Winscribe and other Transcription Services tools and methods
  • Demonstrated quality decision making in work prioritisation, ensuring that a high quality of service delivery and workflow management is achieved and maintained
  • Provide leadership, coaching/training, motivation and management to maximise efficiencies in meeting service delivery expectations
  • Ability to transcribe complex material and produce high quality transcription reports in a timely manner
  • Personal resilience - exposure to highly confidential sensitive, graphic and explicit records
  • Type 70 words per minute at minimum with previous experience dealing with sensitive material preferred
