Regional Disability Advisor


Fixed term for 12 months, Full Time


This role can be based in Taranaki, Whanganui or King Country


Are you able to provide sound and practical vocational rehabilitation advice and recommendations? 


As a Regional Disability Advisor, you will provide education, specialist advice and support to frontline staff on matters relating to the impact physical & mental health and disability has on employment. You will assess benefit eligibility on medical grounds, potential workability of the client and propose solutions to returning to appropriate employment within their capacity. 


A significant portion of the role is the ability to effectively engage with health practitioners to find capability and capacity-based solutions.


With a focus on employment, you will work closely with case managers to determine how we can assist our clients reach their goals and access services they need. 


To be successful in this role you will have:


  • strong communication skills
  • knowledge in vocational rehabilitation
  • the ability to provide sound, evidence-based and practical recommendations to make sure our clients are assisted into suitable employment and provided with the most appropriate financial assistance. 


Previous experience in vocational rehabilitation, occupational therapy, health & disability care or similar setting is an advantage.

Salary for this position is $64,219 - $88,301 depending on skills and experience.
