  • 1.0 FTE permanent full-time position available
  • Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC
  • Have clinical expertise working in the Intensive Care Unit

The Team: What we do

An exciting opportunity for the right candidate has arisen. Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a tertiary level 3 ICU covering cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, paediatric and all general specialty patients requiring intensive care. We are looking for a Nurse Educator to join our team and provide clinical expertise, education and support our large and diverse nursing staff.

The Nurse Educator role offers opportunity for both personal and professional growth.

You will be an effective communicator and your approachable manner will find you acting as a clinical resource and support person for both new and experienced staff.

As the Nurse Educator you will be part of the Senior Nursing team. You will develop a strong education frame work that will incorporate evidence based and best practice principles related to patient care. You will be expected to utilise your teaching skills to support changes in clinical practice and patient care.

The Role: Where you fit in

You will demonstrate your ability to contribute to the professional development of nursing throughout ICU and work in collaboration with Ara in the delivery of the Graduate Certificate in Critical Care papers.

Your excellent interpersonal skills and your ability to adjust to a variety of adult learning styles will be imperative to this role.

You will be self-directed with excellent time management and organisation skills and be familiar with change management principles and processes. Your professional and supportive nature will be an asset to our team.
