Job Description

Inland Revenue (IR) is transforming. We're making it easier for customers to do business with us. We're listening and working collaboratively with customers and agencies across government and in the private sector, as we design new processes and services.

To suport this, we need an Advisor in our Internal Communications team to provide excellent advice with integrity and courage.

We are a great bunch of people here at IR and in this role, you will be part of a fantastic Internal Communications team with a wide breadth of experience and skills.

We're a large, diverse organisation with a fun, supportive internal communications team. We're looking for a communications person to support a number of business areas.

About the role:



This role is fixed term until June 2020, based in Wellington. Part time or full time.

  • You have a can-do attitude and can work effectively at pace to support the changing needs of the business
  • You're a top-notch writer who understands how to simply convey information and tell good stories to broad audiences across a variety of channels
  • You're excellent at building relationships and collaborating with people to get things done
  • You instinctively put the employee experience at the centre of everything you do
  • Your depth of experience allows you to take a step back and ask the right questions to understand what is actually needed. You think on your feet and push back appropriately, because you're confident in your ability to achieve the best outcome. You see the bigger picture and don't get caught up in the detail
  • You have an eye for continuous improvement, supporting the internal communications team and internal customers to deliver innovative communications solutions
  • Ideally you will have worked within a large complex organisation
  • You are creative! You're curious and enjoy exploring possibilities
