Job Description

Inland Revenue (IR) is transforming. We're making it easier for customers to do business with us; we're listening and working collaboratively with customers, agencies across government, and in the private sector as we design new processes and services.

About the role:

IR's Information & Intelligence Services (IIS) group develop intelligence and insights, partnering across IR to deliver customer-centric strategies which improve outcomes for our customers, bettering the lives of everyday NZ'ers.

As a Visual Storyteller / Content Designer you will work with a wide networked group across IIS, using your strategic vision to grasp complex content and weave it into visually appealing stories we can share, to establish an emotional connection with our customers.

This fixed term opportunity will see you working collaboratively alongside key internal stakeholders to create traditional pdfs, videos, interactive outputs and more. You will be business-savvy with the ability to utilise visualisation as a tool to help our stakeholders tell their important data stories.

Not only can you translate internal business concepts into meaningful, insightful and consumable content, you will also drive the physical creation of this content, offering you the opportunity to own the entire content creation process from conception to delivery.

What you'll need to bring to the role:

  • Previous experience in a content driven role, including marketing, graphic design, technical development or a related field.
  • Technically we need you to bring a high level of proficiency in Adobe CC, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Experience with Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Adobe XD is advantageous. It's important to note you'll be working on a PC, not a Mac Book Pro.
  • Strong customer advisory skills, knowing how to approach each situation to influence the best outcome. You're able to push back, and ask the right questions
  • A love of data, and ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences
  • Working in ambiguity doesn't faze you
  • Previous experience creating interactive data would be an advantage

Join us! Make your mark at a time where you'll thrive on challenges, have input into our future, and be a pivotal part of the new and evolving Inland Revenue.

It's important to us that you feel comfortable in bringing your whole self to work; the team here are diverse and we love it.
