Are you an experienced lead/principal advisor who would like to hit the ground running in the new year in a role that will see you impacting and influencing a number of projects?


About the Role


This role will see you champion staff engagement. You will lead communications planning and delivery on a number of significant change projects, often providing communications consultancy to the Chief Executive and the Leadership team.


Opportunity exists for this role to also lead a significant external programme of work – to be negotiated depending on the successful candidate and the resulting mix of skills and expertise within the team.


You will also support the Communications Manager to upskill the team, helping to grow capability, innovate and create new communications products.


This is not a development opportunity, rather an opportunity for a lead or principal practitioner to use the full range of their skills and experience across an exciting change programme.


About the Team


The Corporate Communications team lead, develop and deliver integrated internal and external communications and engagement plans. The team provides clear advice and communications products to help stakeholders and staff understand the work of the Ministry and to help it operate efficiently.


You will have the know how in the following areas:


  • Proven record in the Communications/Public Relations industry at a minimum of lead/principal level
  • Experience in working in a consultancy capacity
  • Expertise in communication best practice and an up-to-date knowledge of communications tools and techniques
  • Experience in landing large communication initiatives
  • Experience in mentoring team members to grow, and coaching for delivery
  • An outstanding record of delivery across multiple programmes of work
  • A knowledge of the State Sector operating environment
