Job Description

Our Delivery directorate is the customer-facing unit of the organisation and is responsible for the implementation/delivery of all (investment and careers) TEC products and services, relationship management, negotiation, performance management and monitoring.

As one of the teams within Delivery, the Monitoring and Crown Ownership team (MCO) provides advice to the Minister, the TEC Board and TEC senior management team on TEO (Tertiary Education Organisations) audits, investigations, system wide reviews, financial performance and capital asset management, Ministerial appointments and governance – at an individual TEO level and by sector trend analysis.

We are looking for a Senior Analyst to join our team to provide, sound professional judgement and financial advice together with evidence-based analysis to manage and advise on the performance of TEO's that receive Crown funding.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Monitoring the financial, educational and organisational (including governance) performance of the TEOs that receive Crown funding.
  • Exercising your judgement and financial advice together with your evidence based analysis to monitor the TEO's.
  • Developing frameworks to undertake the assessments of TEOs, combined with the development of initiates that strengthen TEO's organisational and sector performance.

 

What will you bring to the role?

  • Proven relationship management skills and the ability to maintain strong working relationships both within the TEC and with key external contacts.
  • Strong reporting and writing skills, with the ability to convey detailed financial analysis into clear plain and concise information that can be understood by a non –technical audience.
  • Very strong analytical and critical thinking ability.
  • A tertiary qualification in one of, finance, economics, or law, plus you will be a qualified Chartered Accountant.
