Permanent, Full Time

Based in Whangarei, with local and national travel

We are looking for an innovative, inspirational and energetic people leader to empower our regional work services team to create meaningful and sustainable employment outcomes for clients. 


Our geographically dispersed teams of work brokers and employment coordinators, work with employers to grow and develop job opportunities for clients in the Northland labour market.


As a sales and marketing team, the work services group take a sales pipeline approach to identify suitable employers.  You will lead this team to deliver placement brokerage, vacancy management and employer / community relationship management services across Northland.


You will be a proven change leader (at a strategic and operational level) and will be responsible for leading the successful implementation of Regional and National initiatives.  You have a track record of delivering successful business outcomes and whilst there are established processes and systems in place, your ability to apply a continuous improvement lens will be welcomed.

Daily responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Management and Business Development
  • Leadership of Work Brokers and Employment Coordinators across several regional service centres towards planned business outcomes
  • Leading team meetings, often through technology, encouraging best practice methods to be shared
  • Ensuring products and services are delivered and aligned to policy and business standards
  • Managing sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships with employers across the Northland region
  • Formulation, implementation and monitoring of regional plans that support the strategic direction
  • Monitoring team progress to target and forecast year end results, reporting to regional leadership team
  • Effective management of Crown Expenditure budget, ensuring that the financial targets are achieved
  • Advance your own professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, networking with the national team of work services and labour market managers.
