At Oranga Tamariki our vision is that New Zealand values the wellbeing of tamariki above all else.  Our purpose is to ensure all tamariki are in loving whānau and communities where oranga tamariki can be realised.
Oranga Tamariki focuses on children and young people whose wellbeing is at most serious risk – those at risk of harm and those who have offended.

We have been gifted a unique opportunity to shape a different approach to supporting tamariki and their whānau. We must work together, across state agencies and with our partners – NGOs, iwi, Māori organisations, community groups – to reimagine how we best support children to be safe and supported in their whānau and their homes.

We have an exciting opportunity for two HR Advisors in our People and Leadership team – one permanent and one on a 12-month fixed term basis. The HR Advisor role is responsible for providing sound advice and support to our people leaders on all aspects of people management in accordance with best practice and relevant NZ legislation.  The focus of the HR Advisor is to provide systems, processes and HR information to enable the delivery of work and support the Senior HR Advisors to provide day to day HR support and advice to our people leaders and other aspects of operational HR.

 What you will bring:
•    A qualification in Human Resources or related discipline is desirable
•    Previous experience in HR, or related field at an advisory level
•    Excellent customer focus with the ability to manage multiple and competing demands of a diverse range of stakeholders
•    Detailed knowledge of current NZ employment law and HR practices and can relate this to an organisational context
•    Awesome communications skills tailored for your audience
•    An inclusive and approachable working style, you understand that diversity adds value
