Job Description

What you will do

Be responsible for the day to day provision of direct support for the Assistant Chiefs of Defence Human Resources and Defence Organisational Development. You'll ensure the efficient allocation of tasks, standardisation of processes, and overall coordination of support across the office.

You will be required to provide effective and timely executive assistance, secretarial and, administrative support services to the Assistant Chiefs of Defence Human Resources and Defence Organisational Development and their immediate staff as required. This role will require working collaboratively as part of a wider team to ensure a consistent level of support is provided to the Assistant Chiefs at all times.

No two days are the same, so you will need to be adaptable and able to identify priorities, as and when they arise, while maintaining professionalism and communicating confidently across varying levels of the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will have Personal or Executive Assistant experience and be looking for your next challenge within a large, dynamic organisation.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
