'Kotahi anō te kaupapa, ko te oranga o te iwi'  –  ‘There is only one purpose to our work:  the wellness and wellbeing of our people.

Health Services at Ara Poutama Aotearoa lead the delivery of patient-focused primary health care services to people within prisons across the country.

As a Principal Adviser joining the Group, you will provide professional clinical advice and subject matter expertise to support the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE) Health in designing and delivering an integrated, culturally-informed, health structure across our organisation. Specifically, you'll be a lead advisor in the development of contemporary, evidence-based and collaborative health services which are supported by Kaupapa Māori frameworks, polices and processes unique to the environment within which they'll be delivered.  Naturally curious, you keep abreast of best practice both within NZ and internationally and will support a focus on fit for purpose service design through continuous review and the implementation of a quality assurance program and tools.

The positive way in which you build professional relationships with stakeholders both internally and across the industry is important in this role.  You'll be afforded opportunities to provide subject matter expertise and input into interagency strategy and policy development, overall shaping and influencing the wider Government's health policy priorities.
