Working at the Department of Internal Affairs, you ll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of New Zealanders. 

The Information & Safety Group sits within Organisational Capability and Services, a branch dedicated to supporting the rest of the Department to succeed by providing corporate services that help business groups and people within DIA to make the best contribution to New Zealand.

The Resilience & Recovery function is responsible for leading business continuity activities across the entire Department.

This includes ensuring effective systems and practice are in place to support the delivery of services to New Zealanders and Government following an emergency or business disruption.

This is achieved through building the capacity and capability of the Department through implementing effective crisis management, emergency management and business continuity frameworks.

Working within the Resilience and Recovery team, you will have sound operational experience of implementing business continuity management, as well as in supporting an incident response team during an incident.

Ideally you will have:

        Significant experience in delivering business continuity management in a large organisation

        Demonstrated experience applying business continuity methodology, and preferably hold a relevant accreditation or tertiary qualification

        Significant experience in applying and maintaining Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS)

        Ability to identify and implement initiatives to improve the resilience and increase the capacity of the business

        The ability to inspire and influence others

        Experience in working with senior leaders and establishing credibility

        Ability to turn strategic thinking into operational practice

        Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

This is a specialist role for a proven high performer in this field. The successful candidate will have strong people skills coupled with a responsive, proactive and pragmatic approach. The role also includes the requirement to be available or on call as part of a share duty roster.
