We are seeking a strategic, innovative and highly motivated people leader who is passionate about information management. 

About the Role 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • managing a small team of information management professionals
  • leading the implementation of our new Information Management system
  • providing expert information management and recordkeeping advice at a strategic level
  • ensuring the Ministry meets their requirements under the Public Records Act 2005, other relevant legislation and relevant Archives New Zealand standards and guides.

A key focus of the role will be to promote and support continuous improvement to knowledge management, now and into the future.  

The role is highly collaborative and you will need the confidence to develop and manage relationships at all levels across the Ministry, as well as those outside the organisation. 

Skills and Experience 

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  • demonstrated leadership experience, with an emphasis on building a positive and inclusive culture
  • the ability to operate at a strategic level
  • experienced in information/records management within the public sector
  • a sound understanding of the Public Records Act 2005, related legislation and Archives New Zealand standards/guides
  • great relationship management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
  • thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • a relevant tertiary qualification
  • curiosity and openness to develop Te Ao Māori.

Salary range for this role is $100,645 to $130,247.  Appointment within these ranges will be based on skills and experience.
