  • $110,091 to $155,423 based on relevant skills & experience

Health Services lead the delivery of patient-focused primary health care services to people within prisons across the country. Hōkai Rangi, our over-arching strategic direction,  clearly outlines the important of good mental and physical health to achieving our outcomes of reducing reoffending.  This places the work of the Health Team at Ara Poutama at the heart of our business.


Mō te tūnga - About the role

The Manager Health Solutions is responsible for delivering integrated data-driven health insights and solutions.  The role holder also has a key role in the procurement and oversight of some of the key Health Service contracts. The manager will also ensure that robust support functions are in place to enable the delivery of quality health services across the department. The Manager Health Solutions will work closely with the Health Services Leadership Team and play a critical role in data analytics and improving oversight of data and assurance.

To be successful for this role we are eager to hear from applicants who can demonstrate the following:

  • Experience in leadership roles within a complex public or private sector health delivery or custodial environment;
  • Excellent understanding of key business drivers and expertise in business case development to address problematic health service issues and to reach practical outcomes;
  • Previous experience with leading the delivery of end-to-end procurement outcomes, including competence and experience working with Māori contract providers;
  • Experience with project management and implementing complex system/process improvements in a challenging, centralised environment;
  • Data analytics expertise - an understanding of the importance of using data analytic approaches that support strong insights and better outcomes for Māori;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to develop effective relationships with stakeholders; and
  • Strong cultural competence and a commitment to our practice values of Rangatira, Wairua, Whānau, Kaitiaki and Manaaki.
