Te tūranga – The role

In this role you'll be working with a supportive and collaborative team to deliver influential advice directly to key decision makers. You will monitor and analyse developments in financial markets and the international economy, and effectively communicate your insights to policy makers. You will undertake research and analysis on financial markets to assist with monetary and financial policy making, and the Bank's foreign reserves and domestic liquidity management functions.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

• An understanding of financial markets and their interaction with the economy, ideally with experience in monitoring and research related to finance or macroeconomics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A strong analytical background
• A self-starting attitude, and a passion for improving the economic wellbeing of New Zealanders by contributing across a range of the Bank's policy objectives
• The ability to build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
