About the service:
The Vascular Department is an integral service based at Waikato Hospital. It provides tertiary services for the Midland regional population of 900,000. This is an expanding service with excellent regional networks. The department currently has 4 surgeons performing the full range of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. There is a well-staffed Vascular Ultrasound lab, and a fully equipped Endovascular Hybrid Theatre at Waikato Hospital. The department is RACS Vascular Surgery accredited and has 2 senior trainees. We also have 3 junior registrars and 2 house surgeons.
The department is affiliated with the University of Auckland with a strong interest in research and clinical trials.
About the role:
It is expected that the successful applicant will provide the full range of Vascular Surgery. The person will be enthusiastic, driven and be an active part of a collegial team within the department.

The person we are seeking will:
• have completed FRACS (Vascular) or equivalent qualification
• have appropriate skills in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery
• have expertise and experience in Vascular Ultrasound
• have demonstrated leadership ability.
