Casual Community Nurses ( District Nursing and Specialist Nursing Teams)
Casual positions available
We are looking for experienced Registered Nurses to join our Community Nursing Service on a casual basis. The Community Nursing services include the District Nursing teams in Napier and Hastings, as well as the Specialist Nursing teams of Ostomy, Continence, Wound, Better Breathing Hawkes’ Bay (providing pulmonary and heart failure rehabilitation) and the Community CNS Service
Community Nursing provides a wide range of specialist nursing care in the community, with the aim being to enable people to stay healthier for longer and closer to home, prevent hospitalisation, support discharge and provide education and support to our patients and their families, supporting them in meeting their health needs
The role would appeal to those who enjoy the challenges and variety associated with working autonomously in the community environment, and the flexibility of hours that working casually offers. If you are currently working part time this role could compliment your existing hours.
It is essential that you have a current unendorsed NZ Driver Licence, a strong customer service focus, and have a broad range of clinical skills including wound management (both acute and chronic), intravenous therapy, urinary in dwelling catheter management, stoma care, continence assessment, as well as knowledge in the management of long term conditions. Ideally, you will have experience in a community setting, however, we will consider all applicants who can demonstrate practise at a proficient level as per the HBDHB Professional Development and Recognition Programme (see the attached Position Profile).
