Midwife New Graduate Programme
Part Time 32 Hours per week (0.8 FTE), plus MYFP

Welcome to Timaru Hospital's Jean Todd Maternity Unit. We warmly invite you to apply for a position at TE Whatu Ora South Canterbury in our Graduate Midwife Programme. Our friendly, supportive, encouraging setting is a great place to begin your midwifery career. We aim to assist you in further developing your clinical practice and critical thinking skills with a programme and environment that supports your individual needs. Our programme is designed to facilitate the smooth transition from student to practising midwife.
Welcome to your next level. This 14 Month programme offers the following to complement your MFYP:
- A structured orientation including 6 weeks supernumerary supported by an experienced preceptor and our newly appointed clinical coach
- Paid study days designed to meet your learning needs and to support you in your clinical area
- Extensive range of services offering exposure to a wide variety of learning experiences
- Support and guidance from our designated Midwifery Educator and the Learning hub staff
- A teaching DHB with an excellent reputation
- On site education for PROMPT, Midwifery Combined Emergency Skills, Newborn Life Support and ongoing Breastfeeding education.
You can choose from either an LMC position or Core position. Both
positions run at 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE).
