ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Child & Adolescent Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Multi Disciplinary Team in Kāpiti Community Mental Health Team.
The Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) provides specialist mental health services for children and adolescents between the ages of birth and 19 years (inclusive) with indicators of significant mental health problems, and consultation services for lead agencies working with children and youth with primary mental health disorders. We place a strong emphasis on the family being included in the client s recovery process. The ideal applicant will be able to work alongside other mental health professionals to provide psychiatric expertise within the multidisciplinary approach to client care.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children, and young people who have moderate to severe mental health needs and their families
- Advising and supporting to colleagues in primary care
- Supervising psychiatry registrars and medical students
- Contributing to the on call roster for psychiatrists
To work with us you will need to hold FRANZCP or equivalent and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ and have a current driver's license.

The Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS) spans three DHBs - Wairarapa, Hutt Valley and Capital and Coast DHB s and includes local, regional, and national services. The local MHAIDS services are provided from multiple sites within the 3DHB sub-region greater Wellington, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa.
